NEC Nijmegen vs Cambuur, 10 January 2027, Eredivisie: form, head-to-head and match facts

NEC Nijmegen host Cambuur in what promises to be a decisive clash in the lower half of the table, with the hosts sitting tenth on 7 points after two wins, a draw and three defeats, and a modest -1 goal difference (11 scored, 12 conceded). Cambuur arrive in Nijmegen languishing in 15th place, having collected just four points from a solitary victory and a draw, while their defensive frailties are evident in a -9 goal difference, having leaked 18 times for only nine goals in return. The two sides have already met this season, and the head‑to‑head record will likely influence the tactical approach, as NEC will look to capitalize on their slightly better offensive output. A win for NEC could lift them into the top‑nine and keep their European hopes alive, whereas Cambuur will need the three points to distance themselves from the relegation zone. Both teams will be keen to improve their goal differences, making for a potentially open and attacking encounter.
