Vålerenga vs Rosenborg, 5 December 2026, Eliteserien: form, head-to-head and match facts

Vålerenga host Rosenborg in what promises to be a decisive clash in the upper half of the table, with the home side sitting 11th on 22 points after six wins, four draws and ten defeats, and a goal‑difference of minus nine (33 scored, 42 conceded). Rosenborg arrive in Oslo in a stronger position, occupying sixth place with 30 points from nine victories, three stalemates and eight losses, and a positive goal tally of 36‑29. The gap of eight points means the visitors will need to maintain their superior defensive record if they are to extend their lead over the mid‑table pack. For Vålerenga, a win would not only close the distance to the top six but also improve a leaky defence that has let in more than a goal per game. Both teams will be keen to build on their recent form as the season enters its critical phase.
