Sampdoria vs Avellino, 20 February 2027, Serie B: form, head-to-head and match facts

Sampdoria host Avellino in what promises to be a pivotal clash for both sides, with the hosts languishing in 18th place on just four points from five games (one win, one draw and three defeats, scoring five and conceding nine). Avellino sit comfortably in the top half at eighth, having amassed seven points after two victories, a draw and two losses, and enjoy a modest +1 goal difference (seven scored, six conceded). The gap between the two teams’ recent form is stark, and Sampdoria will need to tighten up at the back if they hope to turn their season around, while Avellino will be keen to extend their push for a European spot. Historically the two clubs have met sparingly, but the current standings suggest a classic battle of a relegation‑threatened side against a mid‑table challenger. Both squads will be aware that three points could dramatically reshape the table for either club.
